Puzzle #84–May 2008 "X"
Instructions:
Guess the words defined by the cryptic clues (words vary in length from three to ten letters; three of them are capitalized and one is foreign), then enter them in the grid one after another in the same order as their clues, starting in the upper left corner. Across words that don't end at the right continue on the next row, and down words that don't end at the bottom continue in the next column. Find a hyphenated word related to the title of the puzzle hidden in the correctly completed grid, and expect a curve ball of another kind at a certain point but don't cross that bridge until you get to it. (If you are having trouble printing these puzzles, you can download an
Adobe Acrobat version of the puzzle and grid).
